Announcing XtreamIT: A New Source for Custom SASSIE Reports
Come meet our new partners at our joint booth at the MSPA conference in San Diego!
For over a decade, there were only two sources for your clients’ custom reports : you could develop them yourself using SASSIE’s Reporterator feature or you could have our customizations team develop them for you.
Now there is a brand new source for custom report development. SurfMerchants has authorized XtreamIT as a recommended developer of custom SASSIE reports. We selected XtreamIT based on their years of credentials in the mystery shopping industry, a proven structure of project managers, programmers and quality assurance engineers, and a genuine enthusiasm for the business of mystery shopping technology.
SurfMerchants is actively training XtreamIT’s engineers in SASSIE’s “ToolZ” API, our own programming language. ToolZ allows outside developers to create custom reports quickly and safely and we’re extremely excited to have XTreamIT’s team of ToolZ experts available to meet your needs.
Q. Does this mean that SurfMerchants is no longer doing custom reports?
A. No, not at all. We will still be available for all kinds of custom development. And while it may seem like we’re giving business away, we believe that our platform will ultimately be stronger if there are more resources available to meet the needs of your clients.
Q. When should I consider going to XtreamIT instead of SurfMerchants?
A. For reports and logs of simple to medium complexity (including your own internal reports/exports), the combination of ToolZ and XTreamIT is ideal.
For reports and logs of high complexity (and for all other types of custom development), SurfMerchants is still the best option.
We are also working with XtreamIT to offer more services in the future, such as:
- Form Creation
- RuleZ support
- Custom Chameleon Themes
Q. What are the relative costs and turnaround time for XtreamIT vs. SurfMerchants?
A. Due to their different cost structure, XtreamIT’s pricing will be significantly lower than SurfMerchants. In many cases, their turnaround time may be significantly faster than SurfMerchants. To keep your costs low, SurfMerchants takes no cut of XtreamIT’s fees.
Q. My goodness, what are you SurfMerchants going to do with all that free time?
A. We plan to dedicate our freed up resources towards developing improvements to the core functionality of SASSIE and making aggressive advances in new mobile products.
Q. What kinds of projects cannot be done with ToolZ / by XtreamIT?
A. ToolZ is growing in functionality and flexibility every month, but it cannot cover every possible type of report or log.
For a great overview of what ToolZ can currently do, please visit our ToolZ documentation website and click on the "Gallery" link:
Note: Keep checking back – new additions to the gallery are being made regularly!
Q. What’s the process for doing projects through XTreamIT?
A. Very simple! You contact XtreamIT directly at Faizeen.firstname.lastname@example.org or 508-963-2729. Their project managers will analyze whether or not your project can be done with ToolZ and deliver you a quote. Once approved, their developers will program your report and their QA staff will perform the required testing. Finally, all payments go to XtreamIT directly.
Q. Do I have to give XtreamIT the same access to our data that SurfMerchants has?
A. No. The purpose of the ToolZ API is to provide a safe environment for outside developers to create custom reports. ToolZ developers ONLY have access to to the data required to generate your reports (and no access to shopper data or encrypted data). You will simply create an admin account for your ToolZ developer just as you would for a member of your own staff and we’ll turn on ToolZ permissions for that account.
Q. How do I find out more about XtreamIT?
